Prof.Muhammad Imtiaz Khan joined Federal College of Education Islamabad as a lecturer in January 1988.He did his Master from Peshawar University. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in 1997, Associate Professor in 2007 and Professor in 2015.He is also an FCE alumni. He assumed the charge of Director FCE in 2015.He gave 32 years of his life to serve FCE. His contribution and accomplishment in Education has been recognized by all. Prof.Muhammad Imtiaz khan has been working in public sector where he served as a teacher educator and educational planner and manager for a considerable period of time. He trained thousands of In-Service and Pre-Service teachers. He has represented FCE in a wide range of projects financially assisted by various donor agencies for the qualitative and quantitative expansion of Education. He has served as focal Person with Academy for Educational Development (AED) and Canadian international Development Agency (CIDA).He worked as chairman purchase committee from 2005 to 2015.During his Directorship, many faculty members got promotion to higher scales. Several faculty members availed the opportunity to receive international training and exposure. Renovation of state of the art library, installation of water filtration plant, furnishing of hostels, establishment of English Language lab, Home Economics lab, Teacher Resource Center and Science labs have been  accomplished during his chair.

            Have you noticed how in a still pool of water, even a gentle fall of a leaf causes ripples? Our professional development, although subtle in its approach is causing ripples at various levels of our Education system. FCE is a lead Teacher Education institution, given an exposure of international level by the government, it can reach the standard of international organization International perspective is very important because things are becoming more globalized. We should focus on developing a national development strategy and link it up to international agenda to ensure sustainability. I have deep spiritual and emotional relationship of 32 years with the classrooms, offices and walls of FCE. I have seen it raised in front of me. I wish FCE reach the highest pedestal of popularity. I pray and wish good luck for future endeavours of FCE.
