Professor Rashada Fatima

Position: (13-8-2011 to 4-9-2014)
Categories: History

“I was among the pioneer faculty members of the Federal College of Education (FCE). After my Master’s Degree in Pakistan Studies from Quaid i Azam University Islamabad, I got selected as a top candidate through FPSC to join FCE Islamabad in 1982 as a lecturer (BPS-17). At that time the FCE was basically a Teachers Training Institute. During my career with FCE, I held various Administrative and Academic positions with 100% results. I organized and participated in various National and International Curriculum Development Workshops and Seminars. I remained an active member of the teaching faculty to broaden the canvas of Teachers Training programs (both pre-service and in-service training) at the FCE. Later, we were able to get the college affiliated with the Punjab University for the BEd, BSEd, MEd, and MA Education Programs. I have the singular honor to become the first thorough-bred staff member to rise to the post of Director FCE in (BPS 20) in 2011 for a complete term of three years, which obviously remains a wish for anyone joining the college as a lecturer. Previously the College used to have its Directors appointed from outside departments/institutions. However, now the college has its own sanctioned post of Director FCE. During my tenure as Director FCE, I was able to get a maximum number of promotions of the teaching and non- teaching staff. With my endeavors, BSEd (Hons) programs were also started at the college. I also hope that FCE will soon become Education University in the country. I owe all my Professional Achievements to the FCE, enabling me to head this prestigious institution. I extend my best wishes and pray that the FCE prospers with each passing day and keep serving the honorable teaching profession in the country.”
